Viewers and avid weather-watchers of BBC TDes ColemanV East Midlands Today will already be familiar with Des Coleman, the cheery weather presenter who can make us believe even the dampest of days are worth waiting for. His ability to present and entertain has made him a popular household name. But Des’s career is that rarity, one which covers the spectrum of entertainment; Television, Producer, Presenter, Musical Theatre, and Films.

With a career spanning 15 years Des has appeared in a multitude of TV productions including, Casualty and Doctors, but it was his 4-year portrayal as the lovable rogue Lenny Wallace in EastEnders – during which time the show won a BAFTA – that would establish him and win him a new army of fans.

Des has appeared in many of London’s West End Shows playing the lead in award winners such as Miss Saigon, Rent and the Musical/Opera Porgy and Bess.

He has presented shows for BBC, Sky and ITV as well as appearing on numerous talk shows and with film credits that include Harry on the Boat, Simple and the wartime drama Submerged. Des has become in the truest sense, an all round entertainer.

Des recently spent 3 years with BBCs East Midlands Today as a presenter. During this time he was twice nominated for the coveted Royal Television Society Award, winning in 2009/10 ‘Best on Screen Personality.’ He was chosen by the BBC to present a one off weather spectacular ‘Wild Weather’ a half hour show screened this year. This led to regular work presenting on the ‘Inside Out’ programme. Des also presents on the BBC’s Flagship daily entertainment vehicle The One Show.

Des is an exceptional inspirational speaker and is regularly employed by universities, colleges and schools as well as various organizations for motivational tutorials. Des joined forces with Nottingham-based PR and speaker coach Louise Third, running their extremely popular one-day ‘Inspired to Speak’ workshop. Lively and practical it is designed to help anyone who might find themselves in the speaker spotlight and leaves delegates ready to tackle the toughest of public engagements.
