‘Inspired to Speak’

Des has joined forces with Integra Communications Director Louise Third to launch a vibrant and powerful speaker coaching programme for the East Midlands region. With both the public and private sectors in their sights, the duo believe it’s time to give tired and turgid presentations the brush-off and inject a bit of life and colour into the board room, conference hall and Council Chamber.

Louise runs the growing BioCity Nottingham -based PR agency Integra and has coached senior executives for presentations for over 20 years. She gave her first speech at the age of six and has taken her passion for presenting to the streets in helping establish Nottingham Speakers’ Corner in the city centre’s King Street. Des Coleman is well-known to BBC East Midlands viewers as the cheery weather-presenter who can raise a smile even on the bleakest of days. He appears regularly on the One Show and is a popular event host and speaker.

“Des and I are on something of a mission to bring excitement, clarity and passion back to the region’s public platforms,” says Louise.  “Barack Obama has reawakened the classic skills of oratory and his impact speaks for itself. This programme is not ‘business-as-usual’.”

“To make a real difference, Louise and I have combined our various skills in this programme, from common sense planning to the use of dramatic devices,” says Des. “Our style is relaxed and highly accessible and we aim to get even the most reluctant communicators to their feet!”

This workshop is highly interactive. Each delegate works on their own presentation, with plenty of opportunity to practice.
